Relationship Therapy
Low-cost relationship therapy for individuals and couples.
Online across the UK, 50 minutes, £60.
When the same argument keeps coming back, or you feel far away from someone you love, it's rarely just about the argument. Our patterns in relationships are often shaped by what we learned about closeness long before we met our partner, and by the pressures life puts on us now.
Relationship therapy gives you space to slow down, understand what's happening between you, and find a different way of meeting each other. That might mean finding your way back to each other, or finding a kinder way through a change.
What we can work on
-
Communication
-
Conflict and recurring arguments
-
Trust and infidelity: recovering after an affair, a betrayal
-
Emotional disconnection: living side by side but feeling far apart
-
Intimacy and connection: losing closeness, affection or desire
-
Work and family pressures: stress, caring responsibilities and busy lives
-
Parenting: becoming parents, disagreeing about children
-
Separation and change: deciding whether to stay, or separate
-
Boundaries and needs: people-pleasing, fear of closeness.
How I work with couples
We look at what happens in the moment: the words, but also what your body does when conflict starts, and the old patterns that switch on. My approach is relational and attachment-informed, so we pay attention to what each of you needs to feel safe enough to stay connected.
I stay on the side of the relationship rather than either person, so both of you can be heard. Sessions can include practical tools for communicating and repairing after conflict, as well as exploring the deeper patterns underneath.
What can change
Over time, many couples and individuals notice:
-
Arguments that calm down sooner, or don't escalate
-
Feeling heard, and able to say what they need
-
More warmth, closeness and trust
-
A clearer sense of what they want from the relationship or not
How it works
-
A free 20-minute call. We talk about what's bringing you here and whether working together feels right.
-
A first full assesment session to understand your relationship, its history and what you'd like to change.
-
In the next session, we agree together what we'll focus on and roughly how many sessions might help.
-
We meet weekly, and review how things are going along the way, adjusting the plan as needed.
