Psychosexual Therapy
Low-cost psychosexual therapy for individuals and couples.
Online across the UK, 50 minutes, £50.
Problems with sex are rarely only physical. Erectile difficulties, low desire or pain during sex are often shaped by stress, past experiences, and how safe your body feels when you let someone close. Psychosexual therapy works with the practical difficulty and with what sits underneath it.
What we can work on
-
Desire and arousal: low or lost desire, mismatched desire
-
Erectile and ejaculation difficulties and performance anxiety
-
Orgasm: difficulty reaching orgasm
-
Sexual pain and penetration: pain during sex, vaginismus
-
Sexual trauma: the effects of sexual abuse or assault
-
Compulsive sexual behaviour: sex or porn addiction
-
Sexual confidence and body image: shame, self-consciousness
-
Communication about sex
-
Sexuality and identity: LGBTQIA+ experiences
How I work with you
We begin by understanding the difficulty in full: when it started, what makes it better or worse, your relationship and sexual history, and your health. This gives us a clear picture before we decide how to work.
Sessions are talking sessions. There is no physical examination and nothing physical happens in the session. We talk, and we also notice what happens in your body as we talk, so we can work with anxiety and shutdown as they arise.
Where it helps, I may suggest structured exercises to try at home, on your own or with a partner, such as sensate focus: a gentle, step-by-step approach to touch that takes away pressure to perform. We go at your pace, and nothing is expected of you that you're not ready for.

How it works
-
A free 20-minute call. We talk briefly about what's bringing you here and whether working together feels right.
-
Assessment session. A first full session to understand the difficulty, your history and what you'd like to change.
-
Agreeing a plan. In the next session, we agree together what we'll focus on and roughly how many sessions might help.
-
Ongoing sessions. We meet weekly, and review how things are going along the way, adjusting the plan as needed.
